StratoStar & Cherry Creek Partnership

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”left” thickness=”1″ width=”580″ up=”0″ down=”20″][vc_column_text]Cherry Creek School District contacted StratoStar looking for a school-wide and district-wide curriculum rooted in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. StratoStar’s Education team worked with administrators within Cherry Creek to develop a program which was rolled out to educators across the district through on-site hands-on PD workshops with StratoStar Education Staff.

One of the main goals for StratoStar’s Cherry Creek Program is to, “Instill enthusiasm for the scientific and engineering process.” These two themes have been woven into the classroom lessons / activities, mission planning, launch / tracking and recovery phases of the program.

When the student projects are launched on the day of the mission they reach altitudes of over 100,000 ft (3 times higher than airplanes) and experience temperatures below -30F. All of the sensor and location data is monitored in real-time by students via their phones and tablets through StratoStar’s online mission tracking website.
